About Dragon's Den
Our Story
Back in 2020 during the covid years 4 friends met at a local comic book shop and started playing D&D. Over the next couple of years the games grew and some of us learned the rules well enough to start running our own games.
The owner of that local shop passed away in 2023. We volunteered our time for 5 months, learned how to run the store and most importantly, we kept the community together. Our players come from all walks of life. Our youngest player is 14 and our oldest player has been playing for 40+ years.
Dragon’s Den LLC was formed on April Fools Day 2024. Our Private Club is located at 123 W. Main St. Emmitsburg MD. We have a clubroom outfitted with a projector, soundbar, conference table and our games are run with the option to join remotely. We can comfortably fit 8+ players per game.
Introduction to D&D
Dungeons and Dragons is a 50 yr old role playing game where you are the hero of a collective story. Players come together to explore, role-play and defeat the big bad.
Dragon’s Den uses the 5th edition of D&D which is the easiest to learn and jump right into. You do not need anything but a sheet of paper to start playing today. Dice and reference books are available to new players and everyone is happy to answer questions or help you make the best choices to build your character.

Players build a character by choosing a character class.
You can sneak around and steal things as a Rogue, battle on the frontlines as a Barbarian, control powerful magic as a Wizard and shapeshift and command woodland creatures as a Druid. Build a powerful Fighter who excels at combat, buff your team and lead social encounters as a Bard and learn the secrets of the wilds as a Ranger.
As your character levels up you will gain new abilities that will help you and your party members survive and thrive in an open world of options and possibilities
The DM or Dungeon Master will guide you through the game they create and run the story you play through. Every DM makes their game unique by mixing up how much exploration, storytelling and combat your party will encounter.
This means there is a story for you that matches your personality and playstyle. Some of our games are serious grim-dark hack and slash dungeon crawls and other games are goofy comedies that barely care about the plot.
